Choosing (and understanding) Childcare

Choosing childcare is one of the most important decisions a parent will have to make during a child's formative years. There are many obvious issues to consider and others that, for a first time parent in particular, are not so obvious. earlyyearsonline offers below some advice which is not necessarily comprehensive but which will provide some 'food for thought' when entering this process.

In addition, as with any profession you will encounter words and phrases that may be confusing, our unique glossary will help you make sense of these. We hope you find these points useful.

Whilst it is vitally important to look closely at tangible aspects of any childcare as listed below, you should also heed your feelings and instincts. If you experience no 'feel good factor' at a particular setting, look elsewhere.

Good luck with your search!
